An annual art exhibit opened Monday at The University of Texas at Arlington to honor the diverse population of Hispanic students, faculty, and staff on campus.
Semana de Cultura is part of UT Arlington’s Hispanic Heritage Month celebration. It features the work of Hispanic art students. The exhibit began Monday, Sept. 21, at UT Arlington’s Gallery West, Studio Arts Center. It will conclude Friday, Sept. 25, with a 6 p.m. reception.
Semana de Cultura began in 1970 when the Association of Mexican American Students (AMAS) saw a need on campus for a program to celebrate Hispanic culture. It was called “Semana Chicana.” MORE
