Wrongful Conviction and Exoneree Services Conference Set for Oct. 30

The UT Arlington, School of Social Work and Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice will present the 2009 Wrongful Conviction and Exoneree Services Conference on Friday, Oct. 30, 2009 in the University Center. The free conference is designed for social workers, service providers, criminal justice workers, policymakers, the legal community, students and members of the general public interested in working to end wrongful conviction and providing services to individuals who become exonerated.

The conference begins at 10 a.m. int he Rosebud Theater of the University Center. Panel discussions and presentations will include those wrongfully convicted, guest speakers, criminal justice experts, UT Arlington faculty and interns. The Bowling, Billiards and Blues Fundraiser will be held at 4 p.m. in the Bowling and Billiards section of the UC. All proceeds for this event will be donated to Texas exonerees.
