Music Dept. Hosts Sound Recording, Mastering Seminars

The Department of Music is hosting a sound recording seminar at 7 p.m. Oct. 26 in the Irons Recital Hall. Prism Sound Recording is currently touring the country, offering seminars that serve as an “insight into the latest recording techniques and … popular myths which have filtered through the industry in recent years,” according to the company’s website. A question and answer session will follow.

“The aim of this tour is to stimulate discussion and debate amongst industry professionals as well as those new to the field of recording. We hope that people will walk away from these events enlightened and enthused, so that the techniques and information they have learnt can be implemented in the future” says Jody Thorne, Prism Sound Sales and Marketing Manager.

While the seminar is free, you must register with Prism Sound to participate. A SADiE mastering seminar will follow on Oct. 27; details and registration info is available online.
