The Department of Theatre Arts will present Theatrefest on weekends April 16 through 25. The annual series of celebrated one-act plays, directed by students and faculty, concludes the department’s performance season. The plays will be performed in the Studio Theatre, Room 137, at the Fine Arts Building, 502 S. Cooper St.
The schedule is:
8 p.m. April 16 and 17; 2:30 p.m. April 16: “The Universal Language” by David Ives, directed by theatre arts major Krystal Love; “Overtones” by Alice Gerstenberg, directed by Adjunct Lecturer Brandi Andrade; “Sometimes I Wake Up in the Middle of the Night” by the students of the Walden Theatre Conservatory, directed by theatre arts major Nastasia Ingersoll; and the award-winning “Lots of Greed and Avarice Going Down” by Senior Lecturer Natalie Gaupp, directed by theatre arts major Nicholas Irion.
8 p.m. April 23 and 24 and 2:30 p.m. April 24 and 25: The family-friendly production of the musical comedy “My Emperor’s New Clothes,” adapted by playwright Larry Shue from Hans Christian Andersen’s story, directed by Associate Professor Joe Chapa.
Ticket prices are $10 for the general public and $7 for senior citizens, students with ID and UT Arlington faculty and staff.
