Symphony Concert Highlights Week of Music

Enjoy a wealth of musical talent this week offered by the Department of Music. All events are in the Irons Recital Hall at the Fine Arts Building.

Clifton Evans directs the UT Arlington Symphony Orchestra in concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 29, as Scott Pool and Sarah Frisof perform for the premiere of George Chave’s “Scherzo for Flute, Bassoon, and Orchestra.” Admission is $5 for faculty and staff.

An opera workshop performance features students performing songs and scenes from various operas and plays at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 30, and Saturday, May 1. Also on Saturday, a Bassoon Studio Recital will feature the students of music Professor Scott Pool at 2:30 p.m. Admission is free for all Friday and Saturday events.

Closing out the spring music season is a choir concert by the University Singers and A Cappella Choir at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 2. Admission is $5 for faculty and staff.
