Student Group Puts March 19 into FOCUS

The FOCUS Photographic Fine Art Association of UT Arlington is holding an open call for photos and prints for an upcoming exhibition.

The student group has organized a photo event for this Saturday, March 19, encouraging anyone who wants to participate to take a photo at 3 a.m. or 3 p.m. The prints of those photos will be collected for an April 4 show at UTA Gallery West in the Studios Arts Center.

“The concept for the exhibition is that anyone can contribute and shoot pictures of where they’re at or what they’re a doing at 3 p.m. or 3 a.m.,” said Scott Hilton, FOCUS faculty adviser and senior lecturer of photography in the Department of Art and Art History.

Photographers of any skill may participate and will need to submit their photos for print online to CVS Pharmacy, Store No. 3707. Participants will have to pay for the prints and designate Amber Hall to pick them up. A confirmation email should be sent to with “FOCUS Photos at CVS” in the subject line.

Organizers said prints may also be dropped off to Room 349 in the Fine Arts Building on campus. Deadline for submissions is April 3.
