Commencement Ceremonies Set for May 15

More than 700 Liberal Arts students will be commemorated Sunday, May 15, in two separate ceremonies at Texas Hall on the UT Arlington campus.

The first ceremony, at 1 p.m., will honor graduation candidates from the departments of Art and Art History, Communication, Music and Theatre Arts. Jordan Parker (BA, ’86) is the keynote speaker.

Parker is an attorney with Cantey Hanger in Fort Worth. He studied English and history at UTA and graduated from Texas Tech University School of Law in 1990. Parker is vice chairman of his firm’s litigation section.

In the 4 p.m. ceremony, commencement will honor candidates from the departments of Criminology and Criminal Justice, English, History, Linguistics and TESOL, Modern Languages, Philosophy and Humanities, Political Science, Sociology and Anthropology, and the Graduate School. George Boll (BA, ’88) will be the keynote speaker.

Boll is a founding partner and president of Juneau, Boll, Stacy and Ucherek, a law firm in Dallas-Fort Worth. After graduating from UTA with a degree in political science, he earned his juris doctor from the University of Oklahoma in 1992, and has been a trial attorney for more than 17 years. Boll is also a former Colleyville city council member.
