A public service announcement produced for UTA Radio.com has made it to the finals of the 2011 Radio Mercury Awards.
The PSA “Get Tested” was produced by radio production students Jillian Dennis and Trey Caron during the Summer II semester. The spot details the questions and concerns faced by a student following a one-night stand.
“The Radio Mercury Awards honors the best of the (radio) medium. This is important because it encourages each of us to push our craft,” said Susan Credle, chief judge for the 2011 Radio Mercury Awards. “Audio that captures the imagination and creates love affairs with brands has incredible value, and today we must strive for that more than ever.”
This is the first time UTA Radio has been named a finalist for a Radio Mercury. Winners will be announced Oct. 4 at an awards ceremony in New York City.
