Lights. Camera. History.
Dr. David Narrett, Associate Professor of History, will see himself on television next year as part of C-SPAN’s “American History TV” series. A production crew was on campus earlier this week to film Narrett’s class and lecture on the Seven Years’ War.
“CSPAN contacted me earlier this fall and asked if I was interested in having my class filmed to be a part of their series,” said Narrett, who began teaching at UT Arlington in 1984. “I don’t know how they got my name.”
The “American History TV” series airs every weekend on C-SPAN3, and features professors and writers lecturing about the people and events that make up the American story. Narrett’s lecture on the precolonial America is slated to air Saturday, Jan. 28, at 7 and 11 p.m. and on Sunday, Jan. 29, at 12 p.m.
“It was very exciting,” he said.
C-SPAN is a private, non-profit company, created in 1979 by the cable television industry to provide public access to the political process.
