Student Directors Call the Shots in TheatreFest

Theatre Arts majors Gregory Alan Cooke, left, and Bridie Corbett are featured in the ensemble of the UT Arlington Department of Theatre Arts' play festival TheatreFest 2012.

Student directors take the reins in a series of stage plays in the Department of Theatre Arts’ annual TheatreFest event. The mini-festival opens tonight and runs through the weekend in the Studio Theatre on the UT Arlington campus.

The performance line-up for this year’s event includes three comic plays: Neil Simon’s Visitor from Forest Hills (directed by Theatre Arts senior Nastasia Ingersoll); Steve Martin’s WASP (directed by Theatre Arts senior Wesley Farnsworth); and original production, Two Guys, One Vault, written and directed by Theatre Arts senior Dan Hinckley.

TheatreFest is the final production of the department’s 2011-2012 season. Due to content and language, the festival is recommended for an adult audience.

Performances are slated for 8 p.m. tonight, Friday and Saturday, and 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $10 for general admission, and $7 for senior citizens, students with ID, and UT Arlington faculty and staff.

For tickets/reservations, group rates, or further information, please contact the UT Arlington Department of Theatre Arts Box Office at (817) 272-2669.
