High school students from around the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex will spend part of their summer vacation on the UT Arlington campus in one of several liberal arts camps.

Several departments within the College of Liberal Arts routinely host camps during the summer months to provide students an opportunity to work with and learn from the university’s award-winning faculty. In the Department of Music, high school musicians learn from professional-level instructors and get a preview of college life. The camps also serve as recruiting tools for the university.

For the past several years, the Department of Art & Art History has hosted a two-week camp for young artists. This year, Assistant Professor Tuan Ho and two MFA students are teaching students how to design and create computer games. Ho said the group’s original game will debut at the end of the camp.
