The windows at the library and University Hall may be rattling a bit when UTA Radio launches its annual Rocktober concert series next Tuesday.
This is third year for the event, but only the second the carry the “Rocktober” name.
“It’s a chance for our students to not only organize a weekly, mini-concert,” said faculty advisor Lance Liguez. “It’s also a chance to showcase, in a live setting, some of the local indie rock bands we feature on the air.”
Tuesday’s kick-off concert will feature Sammie Zonana, who was recently voted Most Talented Maverick 2012 by UTA. The concert is also in conjunction with College Radio Day, which is a national effort to draw attention to college radio stations and the impact they have on and off campus. Some of the bands confirmed to play each Tuesday in October include Svenny Baby and the Lost Immigrants.
