Students, Faculty Join SceneShop’s “Real Men”

Several UT Arlington students, faculty and alumni participated in August’s edition of SceneShop, titled “Real Men.”

SceneShop presents programs of short scenes and monologues, gathered around a loose common theme. The event was held in early August at Arts Fifth Avenue in Fort Worth.

Theatre Arts majors Joshua Eguia, Michael Carver-Simmons and Dale Shelton each performed; Shelton also wrote a scene.

Senior Wes Farnsworth directed a piece, and Andrew Davila, also a theatre arts major, designed lights for the show.

Dr. Natalie Gaupp, the department’s playwright-in-residence, who has long been involved with SceneShop, wrote one piece and co-wrote another with SceneShop founder and UT Arlington alum, Steven Alan McGaw.

Steven Cashion, a UT Arlington theatre arts graduate, and film studies major Allison Willoughby also joined the cast.
