UT Arlington’s world-class glass art show and sale has expanded this year with a premium preview event Thursday, April 3, that will feature works from virtually every medium in the studio arts and extended public sale hours on Friday.
On Thursday evening, the ART/UTA 2014 Studio Event and Art Auction features silent and live auctions of faculty and student works in photography, painting, sculpture, ceramics and printmaking in addition to glass. The event will be held at the Studio Arts Center, 810 S. Davis Drive, and will include studio demonstrations in painting, sculpture and glassblowing and opportunities to hear artists discuss their creative processes.
Tickets for the Thursday event are $100 per person, with proceeds benefiting scholarships in Department of Art and Art History. To purchase tickets online, visit www.uta.edu/artuta. For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 817-272-5300.
“At its best, art broadens our perspectives culturally and socially, and it sparks our imagination,” said Robert Hower, chairman of the Department of Art and Art History in the College of Liberal Arts. “We are please to expand this event and provide additional opportunity to spotlight faculty and student excellence and their creative and intellectual contributions to our community.”
The traditional public glass art sale will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, April 4, also at the Studio Arts Center.
