UTA broadcasting students are gaining skills that will make them more marketable than many of their peers thanks to a partnership with the Univision television station in Dallas-Fort Worth. The partnership, called Proyecto U, gives Spanish-language students a chance to produce newscasts on Univision 23. Three of the newscasts are taped. The fourth and final newscast is broadcast live.
“This is, without question, a unique program unlike anything you’d find in the United States,” says Julian Rodriguez, UTA Broadcast Communication Lecturer and News Director of UTA News en Español. “When they graduate, the industry wants them.”
