UTA Student wins Gold, Advances to District Level Advertising Competition

CaseyMoore-GoldADDY-2018University of Texas at Arlington broadcast communication student Casey Moore took Gold honors in the Student category of the 56th annual American Advertising Federation (AAF) American Advertising Awards local competition held March 8, 2018.

The awards were presented at a ceremony hosted by AAF Dallas at The Bomb Factory in Deep Ellum. Casey’s entry was an animated video promo for the Texas Bullet Train, for Texas Central. He took gold in the Online/Interactive category. All gold-winning submissions advance to the district-level competition, and from there could advance to the national level.

According to Suzanne La Forgia, AAF Dallas President, the annual Dallas American Advertising Awards (the ADDY’s) Gala is one of the most anticipated and attended advertising events of the year. She said AAF Dallas is the oldest civic organization in Dallas at 110 years old, and one of the most recognized local chapters in the nation.

“It was awesome to be recognized for my efforts in a room full of highly talented creatives,” said Moore. “I’m also thankful to UTA for the opportunities they’ve provided, which have allowed me to hone my skills with these exciting projects that make an impact in our community.”

“I appreciate AAF Dallas for highlighting the work of talented students,” said LaDonna Aiken, broadcast lecturer at UTA. “The recognition encourages our students to innovate and push their creative boundaries. We often work with local community and corporate partners to blend academic effort with real-world clients and outcomes.”
